Anesaki

Japanese:
Anesaki

A district of Ichihara City facing Tokyo Bay in the mid-west of Chiba Prefecture. Formerly Anesaki Town. The station name is Anegasaki, which is also the common name. During the Edo period, it developed as a post town on the Kisarazu Kaido road, and has a town-village structure. Shallow seaweed and shellfish fishing was popular along the Tokyo Bay coast, but land reclamation has led to the formation of a coastal industrial complex where thermal power plants and petrochemical factories are concentrated. In recent years, there has been significant development of housing land on the plateau.
