The words of Anekoji Morotoki

...Hida kokushi family. One of the three kokushi. Fujiwara no Michizane's son, Noritoki, was a descendant of the Anenokoji clan, and it seems that his descendants held posts in Hida in the late Kamakura period. During the Kenmu period (1334-38), during the time of Ietsuna, they were appointed kokushi of Hida, which was one of the provinces under the Southern Court's imperial estates. They played an active role on the Southern Court's side, and in 1378 (Tenju 4, Eiwa 4), they were appointed to the position of Junior Third Rank Councillor. After Ietsuna, Michizane was appointed to the position of Junior Third Rank Councillor in 1417 (Oei 24), the year after Emperor Gokameyama returned to the Imperial Court, and was succeeded by Mochizane and Katsuzane. Around the time of the Onin and Bunmei periods, Katsumoto held the position of land steward for the area west of the Jinzu River in Kojimago, Yoshiki County, and was based in Kojima Castle, while Yukitsuna ruled over Kojimamukae (Kotakuri), and Masaie ruled over Furukawago, and the three families of Kojima, Kotakuri, and Furukawa coexisted and fought against each other.

…飛驒国司家。世にいう三国司の一つ。藤原師尹の子済時が姉小路氏を称し，その裔が，鎌倉後期に飛驒に所職を有していたらしいが，家綱のとき，建武年中(1334‐38)に南朝のいう御料の一国である飛驒の国司に任ぜられたといい，南朝方として活躍し，1378年(天授4∥永和4)従三位参議に叙任された。家綱のあとの師言は，後亀山法皇還御の翌1417年(応永24)，従三位参議に叙任され，ついで持言，勝言と継いだ。応仁･文明前後，勝言は吉城郡小島郷神通川以西の地頭職を有して小島城に拠り，之綱は小島向(小鷹利)を，昌家は古河郷を領し，小島，小鷹利，古河の3家が並立し互いに抗争した。…
