Atomic Girls

Japanese: アトミック・ガールズ - あとみっくがーるず
Atomic Girls

...Apart from the fact that the Shochiku Revue Company's atmosphere is somewhat down-to-earth and Tokyo downtown, there is no essential difference between the Takarazuka Revue and the star-centered and glamorous revue format throughout its history, but especially after the war, the Shochiku Revue Company took advantage of the large Asakusa International Theater to create more spectacular and elaborate stage productions, such as the overwhelmingly powerful line dance performed by the entire cast, called the "Atomic Girls," and the use of real water to create a waterfall on stage. From the late 1940s to the early 1950s, the Shochiku Revue Company gained popularity by introducing such innovative ideas, and continued to perform its four major dances, the "Spring Dance," "Summer Dance," and "Autumn Dance," in addition to the traditional "Tokyo Dance." However, on April 5, 1982, due to management and performance reasons, the company lost its home base, the Asakusa International Theater, and, without a home base, it continued to perform regularly several times a year at several Shochiku-affiliated theaters, but has been suspended since 1990.
