Atomi Yutaka
1884-1953 A Western-style painter from the Meiji to Showa periods.
Born May 23, 1884. Studied under Kuroda Seiki. Joined the Hakuba-kai in 1906, and won a prize at the first Bunten exhibition in 1907 for "Cape of the Evening." Founded the Kofu-kai with Nakazawa Hiromitsu and others in 1912. Died October 22, 1953. Age 69. Born in Tokyo. Graduated from Tokyo School of Fine Arts (now Tokyo University of the Arts). Notable works include "Late Smoke" and "Whetstone Cutter."

明治17年5月23日生まれ。黒田清輝にまなぶ。明治39年白馬会にくわわり,40年第1回文展で「夕の岬」が入賞。大正元年中沢弘光らと光風会を創立した。昭和28年10月22日死去。69歳。東京出身。東京美術学校(現東京芸大)卒。代表作に「晩煙」「砥石切」など。
