Junichi Asano

Japanese: 浅野順一 - あさのじゅんいち

1899-1981 A theologian and pastor from the Showa era.
Born on December 12, 1899. Studied under Takakura Tokutarou and others at Tokyo Theological Seminary. Studied in England and Germany. Founded Mitake Church of the Church of Christ in Japan in 1931, and conducted research into evangelism and Old Testament studies. Became a professor at Aoyama Gakuin University in 1949. Died on June 10, 1981, aged 81. Born in Fukuoka Prefecture. Graduated from Tokyo University of Commerce (now Hitotsubashi University). Written works include "Ethics of the Old Testament" and "Theology of the Prophets of Israel."

明治32年12月12日生まれ。東京神学社で高倉徳太郎らに師事。イギリス,ドイツに留学。昭和6年日本基督(キリスト)教会美竹教会を設立,伝道と旧約聖書学の研究にあたる。24年青山学院大教授。昭和56年6月10日死去。81歳。福岡県出身。東京商大(現一橋大)卒。著作に「旧約聖書の倫理」「イスラエル預言者の神学」など。
