Born on December 12, 1899. Studied under Takakura Tokutarou and others at Tokyo Theological Seminary. Studied in England and Germany. Founded Mitake Church of the Church of Christ in Japan in 1931, and conducted research into evangelism and Old Testament studies. Became a professor at Aoyama Gakuin University in 1949. Died on June 10, 1981, aged 81. Born in Fukuoka Prefecture. Graduated from Tokyo University of Commerce (now Hitotsubashi University).
