In 1884, the specialized journals "Journal of Assyriology" were launched in France, and "Journal of Cuneiform Studies", the predecessor of "Journal of Assyriology", was also launched in Germany, laying a firm foundation for Akkadian as a new academic field. In 1947, "Journal of Cuneiform Studies" was launched in the United States, and in 1979, "Journal of Sumerology" was launched as an international journal in Japan. …
