Ming shi-san-ling (English: Ming shi-san-ling)

Japanese: 明十三陵 - みんじゅうさんりょう(英語表記)Ming shi-san-ling
Ming shi-san-ling (English: Ming shi-san-ling)
A group of royal tombs from the Ming dynasty in Changping County, north of Beijing, China. The third emperor, Yongle, moved the capital to Beijing and began construction of Changling at the foot of Mount Tianshou in the 7th year of Yongle (1409). From then until the 17th emperor, Yizong, Chongzhen, the tombs of 13 emperors, excluding the 7th emperor, Daizong, were built here. The tombs are arranged on either side of Changling, forming a mausoleum, with 12 stone figures and 24 stone beasts lined up along the Shinto path leading to Changling. Looking at the mausoleum of the representative Changling, the whole is divided into three gardens, with a huge Ling'en Hall in the center and a Ming Tower behind it, and a huge mound behind the Ming Tower. In the case of Dingling, a burial chamber was located deep underground beneath the mound.
