Azamigatake (1,004m) on the border with Shimane Prefecture in the northwest of Tsuno District, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and the Kano Basin opens up in the upper reaches, but it is very winding, and most of the middle reaches in the northern part of Tokuyama City, Nishiki Town, and Mikawa Town form gorges. In Iwakuni City, it branches into the Imazu River and Monzen River, creating a delta plain before flowing into Hiroshima Bay. Its river length is about 110 km, and its drainage area, including its tributaries the Usa River, Hongo River, and Ikimi River, is 884 km2. …
