Isoborneol

exo -1,7,7-trimethylbicyclo[2.2.1]heptan-2-ol _{. C10H18O (} 154.25). Also known as β-camhol. Found in Chinese cypress and other plants. Melting point 212°C. -32.3° (methanol). ( 1R , 2R )-isomer, but ( 1S , 2S )- and (±)-isomers (melting point 212°C) are also known. Sparingly soluble in water. The 2-stereoisomer is borneol. Used in the fragrance industry. [CAS 10334-13-1]
