...The Yangshao culture used pottery fragments, while the Longshan culture used shells. In Japan, shell knives have been excavated at the Bishamon Cave ruins in Kanagawa Prefecture and other sites. Sharp wooden products have also been found at the Kitoragawa ruins in Osaka Prefecture.
