Nagaharu Asano

Born on March 26, 1614. Son of Asano Nagaakira. In 1636, his father's estate of Hiroshima Domain in Aki was inherited by his eldest son and younger brother Mitsuakira, and Nagaharu was given 50,000 koku of land, becoming the first head of the Asano clan to rule the branch domain of Miyoshi Domain in Bingo (Hiroshima Prefecture). He worked on flood control and industrial development, and fostered famous local products such as Miyoshi cormorant fishing, Bingo tatami mats, and Miyoshi dolls.
