Also a fence or wall made by roughly weaving bamboo with its branches cut off to enclose a house. Bamboo garrison. *Shiji Sho (1477), vol. 13 "The corridor makes both sides of the path like a tube, with the bamboo garrison attached." 2. A device made by lining up bamboo with branches attached to it to dry things. A high-rise structure especially used in the drying area of indigo dye shops. *Haiku Ruifunshu (1676), added "At the gate of the indigo dye shop, a garrison is set up."
