...This refers to a palanquin or palanquin carried from the front and back by a kago-carrier (koto-cho, koto). There are three types of palanquin: hand palanquins (tagoshi) and waist palanquins (yoyo), in which the shafts are held up around the waist by the hands, and shoulder palanquins (agegoshi), in which the shafts are hoisted on the shoulders.
