(2) Liquid nitriding The material to be treated is heated and held at 500-600°C for 1-5 hours in a salt bath whose main components are sodium cyanide (NaCN) and potassium cyanide (KCN). The reaction in the salt bath is the same as that in carburizing, but nitriding occurs when the temperature is low.
