Acrylic lacquer

...A paint whose main film-forming element is acrylic resin. There are two types: thermosetting (a chemical reaction occurs when heated, forming a film) and volatile drying (a film is formed as the solvent evaporates), the latter also known as acrylic lacquer. Thermosetting acrylic resin paints are superior to amino-alkyd resin paints in hardness, stain resistance, chemical resistance, color retention, and heat resistance, and are used in considerable quantities for automobile topcoats, pre-coated metals (coated steel sheets that have been painted beforehand and then cut into products), home appliances, and other metal products and food cans.
