A town in Iruma County in southern Saitama Prefecture. It is located in the northeastern part of the Musashino Plateau. Kamitome in the west was a new rice field in the mid-Edo period, and is famous as one of the Mitomi Shinden along with the neighboring Nakatomi and Shimotomi. The Kan'etsu Expressway and National Route 254 pass through the town, and in recent years the area has seen a marked increase in the construction of factories and residential areas.
