Japanese: アカヒレタビラ（英語表記）Acheilognathus tabira erythropterus

A freshwater fish of the Cyprinidae family. Body length 7cm. The body is laterally compressed, with a pair of whiskers at the corners of the mouth. The nuptial coloration of the male is different from that of the closely related subspecies, the White Fin Tabira. During the spawning season from April to June, males have red outer edges of their anal fin (white in the White Fin Tabira), and red areas on their dorsal fin, pelvic fin, caudal fin, and caudal peduncle. They are found in the Kanto and Tohoku regions, as well as on the Sea of Japan side of the Chubu region.
