This is a star chart and star catalogue in which F.W. Argelander recorded the positions and brightnesses of all possible stars using a 72mm telescope at the Bonn Observatory in Germany. It was published between 1859 and 1886. The Durchmusterung is abbreviated to the BD star catalogue, meaning that it lists every single one. It lists 320,000 stars north of -2° declination, and his disciples later expanded it to -23°, adding 133,000 stars. The stars are arranged in order of right ascension for every 1 degree of declination, and these numbers are still used to name the stars.

F.W.アルゲランダーがドイツのボン天文台の口径72mmの望遠鏡を用いて観測し，可能なかぎりのすべての恒星の位置と明るさを記録した星図と星表。1859‐86年にかけて出版された。Durchmusterungは一つ残らずリストするという意味で，略してBD星表と呼ばれる。赤緯－2゜以北の恒星32万個を記載し，のちに門弟が－23゜まで拡張，13.3万個を追加した。星は赤緯の1度の幅ごとに赤経の順に配列してあり，その番号は今も星の名まえとして用いられる。
