...Depending on the type of piece, male mad stories such as "Kumano Monono Kurusu", "Reed Cutting", and "Doguruma" and female mad stories such as "Hyakuman", "Sakuragawa", and "Mii-dera" are collectively classified as "mad stories", "obsession stories" such as "Funabashi", "Tori Komachi", and "Akogi", "amusement stories" such as "Sansho", "Kantan", and "Tenko", and "present stories" such as "Hachiki", "Morihisa", and "Ataka". However, "Nishikigi", "Matsumushi", and "Umegae" are also sometimes classified as "obsession and amusement stories", and "Setsutai", "Kagekiyo", and "Torioi-bune" are also classified as "human interest stories". Also, based on the role and usage of the shite, Jinen Koji, Kagetsu, and Tougan Koji are classified as "food to be consumed," while Lady Aoi, Dojoji, and Kurozuka (Adachigahara in the Kanze school) are classified as "prayer pieces" based on the work they perform. In short, they are "miscellaneous Noh" with a mixture of various musical styles, and some pieces are used as the second part of an abbreviation.
