Kakitsuki

Military chronicle. 1 volume. Both the author and the date of writing are unknown. The first main text describes how on June 24, 1441, Akamatsu Mitsusuke assassinated Shogun Ashikaga Yoshinori, and then, attacked by the forces of Yamana Mochitoyo and others, committed suicide on September 10 at Koshibe Castle (Kiyobe City, Hyogo Prefecture), the guardian of Harima Province. It then goes on to provide a chronological description of the development of the Akamatsu clan since Norimura, the background and summary of the incident, such as Mitsusuke's cold treatment by Yoshinori, the struggle between the Akamatsu clan and the new Shugo Yamana clan in Harima after the incident, and how the Akamatsu clan and their retainers recaptured the sacred seal from the Later Southern Court, which led to Masanori being allowed to serve in the shogunate as a result. It is a useful way to get an overview of the political trends surrounding the Akamatsu clan. For example, a good historical source on the incident in which the sacred seal was recaptured from the Later Southern Court is the joint document (Kozuki documents) of August 1478 (Bunmei 10). It is included in the War Section 1 of Shinko Gun Ruiju.

軍記。1巻。著者、著作年代ともに不詳。初めに主文として、嘉吉元年（1441）6月24日赤松満祐(あかまつみつすけ)が将軍足利義教(あしかがよしのり)を弑(しい)し、山名持豊(やまなもちとよ)らの軍勢に攻められて9月10日播磨(はりま)国守護所越部城（木）山(こしべきのやま)城（兵庫県たつの市）で自害したことを記す。次に則村(のりむら)以来の赤松氏の発展、満祐が義教に冷遇されたことなど事件の背景と概要、事件後播磨国内における赤松氏と新守護山名氏との攻防、そして赤松氏一族・家臣らが後南朝から神璽(しんじ)を奪還し、その功によって政則(まさのり)が幕府に出仕を許されたことなどを編年体で叙述している。赤松氏に関する政治動向の概略をみるには便利である。なおたとえば後南朝から神璽を奪還した事件に関する好史料としては、文明(ぶんめい)10年（1478）8月の上月満吉・堀秀世連署条書（上月文書）がある。『新校群書類従』合戦部1所収。
