…Honpukuji Temple was the center of the Katata followers. In response to the rise of the Katata followers, the feudal lord Enryakuji Temple attacked Katata in 1468 (Onin 2) (Katata Ozeme), and the Katata followers fled to Okinoshima Island and were not allowed to return until they paid a gift to Enryakuji Temple in 1470 (Bunmei 2). Later, Oda Nobunaga also had a hard time dealing with the rebellion of Katata, which was centered on the Ikko sect followers, but he finally succeeded in suppressing it with the help of the local samurai. …
