Eisenacher School - Aizenahha (English spelling)

Eisenacher School - Aizenahha (English spelling)

A group that formed the Social Democratic Workers' Party in 1869 in opposition to the All-German Workers' Association. Even after Lassalle's death, the All-German Workers' Association, under the leadership of Schweitzer, made compromises with Bismarck, but Bebel and W. Liebknecht, leaders of the Federation of German Workers' Associations, accepted the platform of the First International, which had been spread among workers through the activities of J.P. Becker and others, and in August 1869, in Eisenach, they formed the Social Democratic Workers' Party, which advocated a Marxist platform. The platform aimed to "establish a free nation-state," but they were unable to completely eliminate the influence of Lassalle. In 1875, the party merged with the All-German Workers' Association to become the German Socialist Workers' Party.
