Also written as "Goshamisen." A shamisen player who accompanies one particular tayu in Gidayubushi and other plays. They are like a married couple on stage, and once it's decided, they exchange a cup of sake and, in principle, accompany only that tayu. It is said that it takes five years for the two to become perfectly synchronized in rhythm. There is an old record that around the Kan'en era (mid-18th century), Onishi Tozo played the role of aide shamisen for Masatayu II. 「合三味線」とも書く。義太夫節などで特定の一人の太夫の伴奏をする三味線弾きをいう。舞台上の夫婦のようなもので,決められたら盃をかわし,原則としてその太夫のみの伴奏をする。両者の呼吸が完全に一致するには5年はかかるという。寛延頃 (18世紀中頃) 大西藤蔵が2世政太夫の相三味線をつとめたという記録が古い。
