Scientific Photos
Photography uses the physical, chemical, or technical properties of photography to serve as a medium for measurement and analysis. It is a means of perception that eliminates the subjectivity of the senses and obtains precise, accurate, and objective recorded material. Photographs are taken with the aim of recording the subject as well as measuring length, area, time, and illuminance, but extremely high precision is required in each stage of the optical system (lenses, etc.), exposure, photosensitive materials, and development process, which is one of the distinctive aspects of scientific photography that sets it apart from general photography. Taking the example of the beginnings of scientific photography as a microscope, French scientist Alfred Donné was already taking microscope photographs with a daguerreotype in 1840, and in 1845 published 80 illustrations in copperplate aquatint prints in Donné's Lectures on the Microscope.
