Soda - soda (English spelling)

It is usually the common name for sodium carbonate, but it is sometimes used specifically for sodium carbonate decahydrate (crystalline sodium carbonate, also known as crystalline soda or washing soda), Na ₂ CO ₃・10H ₂ O. It can also include sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). It can also be used to refer to sodium as an ingredient in compounds, such as sodium mica and soda alum.

普通は炭酸ナトリウムの俗称であるが、炭酸ナトリウム十水和物（結晶炭酸ナトリウム。結晶ソーダ、洗濯ソーダともいう）Na₂CO₃・10H₂Oに限定して用いる場合がある。また、水酸化ナトリウム（カ性ソーダ）、炭酸水素ナトリウム（重曹）などを含める場合もある。さらに、ソーダ雲母(うんも)、ソーダミョウバンのように、化合物中の成分としてのナトリウムに対して用いることもある。
