Oji Ward - Ouji

...the name of a place in Kita Ward, Tokyo. It had been independent as Oji Ward since 1932, but merged with the former Takinogawa Ward in 1947 to become part of Kita Ward. The eastern edge of the Musashino Plateau faces the lowlands of the Arakawa River, and on the plateau, Asukayama and Oji Shrine, which enshrined Kumano Wakaichi Oji, are located opposite each other across the deep valley of the Shakujii River.
