Kibanaikarisou - Kibanaikarisou

A perennial plant of the Berberidaceae family (APG classification: Berberidaceae). It grows under forests in mountainous areas and produces pale yellow flowers in April and May. It is found in the mountainous areas of the Kinki and Chubu regions, the Sea of ​​Japan side of the Tohoku region, and southern Hokkaido. Other than the flower color and distribution, it is the same as Epimedium esculentum. A type of Epimedium esculentum that is small and has fewer sawtooth leaves is found in the serpentine areas of northern Kanto.

メギ科（APG分類：メギ科）の多年草。山地の林下に生え、4～5月、淡黄色の花を開く。近畿・中部地方の山地、東北地方の日本海側、北海道南部に分布する。花の色、分布のほかはイカリソウと同じである。北関東の蛇紋岩地には、小形で葉の鋸歯(きょし)が少ない型のクモイイカリソウが分布する。
