A representative pre-revolutionary writer was Mikhail Kotsyubinskii (1864-1913), and representative post-revolutionary writers were the Symbolist Pavel Tychina (1891-1967), the neoclassical poet Maksim Ryl'skii (1895-1964), and the playwright Korneichuk. Modern Belorussian literature was established in the 1840s, but it only saw rapid development after 1905. ...
