Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture, 16km south of the city, overlooking the deep valley of the Okawa River, includes Oya Onsen on the opposite bank. Ashinomaki has been known since the Edo period, and cold water was said to cure beriberi and eye diseases ("Shinpen Aizu Fudoki"). Salt-containing gypsum spring, 45-75℃. Oya is a simple spring, 43℃.
