Coulometry

When two or more metals coexist, electrolysis is performed by limiting the cathode potential to a potential at which only the desired metal precipitates.
[Coulometry]
A method of analysis based on Faraday's law of electrolysis, in which the amount of electricity required to quantitatively electrolyze a target substance is measured. When the target electrolysis reaction occurs with a current efficiency of essentially 100%, highly accurate analysis is possible.
