...For positions that cannot be covered, cover is sought from outside to avoid the risk of fluctuations in exchange rates. Mail credit: A type of trade finance, in which an exchange bank purchases a sight-paid export bill from an exporter, mails it to a foreign paying bank, and receives short-term financing from the foreign paying bank using the bill as collateral for the number of postal days until payment is received. Position regulations: Even in countries where fairly strict exchange controls are generally in place, exchange banks and other institutions are allowed to hold foreign exchange positions for business reasons, but mainly from the perspective of maintaining the soundness of bank management, certain limits are set for each bank, and buying or selling positions exceeding these limits are prohibited.
