[Wing classification and characteristics]
An airplane's wings are classified into various categories based on their function, their position in relation to the fuselage, their number, their planform, etc.
[Classification by front-to-rear position]
The main wing is located near the center of gravity of the aircraft, and its main purpose is to generate lift to support the aircraft's weight during flight, and it also serves to maintain lateral stability. When we simply refer to the wing, we are referring to the main wing.
