A representative who bore the name of Emperor Seinei, i.e. Shiraga no Oyamatoneko (White Haired Yamatoneko). The division into Shiragabe Toneri, Kashiwade, and Yugei indicates that the Be (be) was used to support the Tomo (companions) who served the Emperor at court, who were lower in rank than Toneri. The Shiragabe clan and surname was distributed in the eastern provinces of Japan, such as Musashi, Kazusa, Shimotsuke, and Mino, as well as Yamashiro and Bitchu. Later, the name was changed to Makabe to avoid Emperor Kōnin's given name Shirakabe, but in the Wamyōshō, Makabe-go can be found in Suruga, Hitachi, Kozuke, Shimotsuke, and Bitchu, so even so, it is more prevalent in the eastern provinces.
