Born: July 20, 1880, Kenno, Latvia [Died] April 26, 1946. Innsbruck German philosopher. Born into a Russian aristocratic family, he lived in Estonia until 1918, but after the Russian Revolution he moved to Germany and lived mainly in Darmstadt. There he opened the "School of Wisdom" (Schule der Weisheit) and lectured on philosophy. He also traveled widely, and his "Das Reisetagebuch eines Philosophen" (1919) made him famous.
