Okinawa catfish - Okinawa catfish

...It is widely distributed in central and southern Japan, from the western Pacific Ocean to the Indian Ocean. In Tanabe, Wakayama Prefecture, it is called Uminamazu, and in Kochi Prefecture, it is called Okinamazu in confusion with other species. This is said to be due to the fact that this species has six barbels on each side of its snout. It is also called Tabera and Donko in Tokyo Bay, Bikunin in Fukuura, Kanagawa Prefecture, Morohige in Hachijojima, and Shingyobo in Onahama.
