…the name of the numerous islands scattered between Sulawesi (Celebes) and New Guinea in northeastern Indonesia. They are called the Maluku Islands in Indonesian. They have long been known as the Spice Islands and include the islands of Halmahera, Seram, Ambon, Ternate, and Tidore.
