Kaikosha - Kaikosha

It was founded in February 1877 (Meiji 10) as an organization for the purpose of promoting friendship among officers of the former Japanese Army and conducting military research. In particular, when the military system of the Army was changed from the French to the Prussian system, a group of officers who were dissatisfied with this and gathered together in an organization called the Getsuyo-kai (Monday Society) came into conflict with the mainstream of the military, and it came to be expected that the organization would play a role in unifying and uniting officers in thought. After the Getsuyo-kai was forcibly merged with the Kaikosha in 1890, it became the Army's only officially regulated organization.
