Maruliĉ, M.

Japanese: Maruliĉ,M.(英語表記)MarulicM
Maruliĉ, M.

…the name of the southern coast of Croatia. To be precise, it includes the coastline from the Velebit mountain range (highest peak 1,746 m) between Rijeka and Zadar in the north to the Bay of Kotor in Yugoslavia in the south, the Dinaric Alps in the east, and the islands east of the central Adriatic Sea in the west. The main cities are Split, Zadar, Šibenik, and Dubrovnik. Except for the northwest and parts of the southern tip, the whole area is in rugged karst terrain, so there is very little arable land. Due to the typical Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters, grapes for wine, vegetables, and fruits, especially olives, figs, and almonds, are cultivated.

From Yugoslavia

...A country that existed in the western Balkan Peninsula from 1918 to the early 1990s. To be precise, it is divided into the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes from 1918, the Kingdom of Yugoslavia from 1929, the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia from 1945, and the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia from 1963, but it was collectively called "Yugoslavia" and in Japan it was also abbreviated to "Yugo". "Yugoslavia" means "country of the South Slavs," and as the name suggests, it was a multi-ethnic state mainly composed of South Slavic peoples.
