MTBF - MTBF

Mean time between failures. The average time between when a system failure is repaired and when the next failure occurs. The longer the MTBF, the higher the system reliability. It is often used as an index of hard disk reliability. The formula for calculating MTBF is MTBF = total operating time - total repair time ÷ number of repairs. 平均故障間隔。システムの故障が修復してから次に故障が発生するまでの平均時間のこと。MTBFが長いほど、システムの信頼性が高いことを示す。ハードディスクの信頼性を示す指標として利用されることが多い。MTBFを求める計算式は、MTBF=全運転時間－修復時間合計÷修復回数。
