A district in the northern part of Taito Ward, Tokyo. Located near Iriya Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line, it is known for its morning glory market. During the Edo period, it was a production area for cut flowers and potted plants. The grounds of Shingenji Temple, which enshrines the statue of Kishimojin, the principal image of the temple known for its catchy name "Osore Iriya no Kishimojin," are bustling with people with morning glory markets every year for three days around Tanabata. Near Iriya intersection stands the "Morning Glories Origin Monument," and next to it stands the "Iriya Kenzan Kamamoto Monument," which pioneered Iriya pottery.
