Mass tourism (English)

...(1) Tourism brings about changes in the value of natural and human resources in order to add a certain level of processing to them, which is often seen as a reduction in the absolute value of the natural environment, beauty, or historical scenery, and (2) because the development is in response to the actions or demands of foreign tourists, which are in principle unrelated to the lives and demands of the local residents, it often brings about contradictions between the two. In Japan, the problems specific to tourism development began to be recognized when large-scale tourism development in response to the trend of mass tourism since the high economic growth period from around 1955 began to cause various problems in various places, and the situation is similar worldwide.
