Pyroxenoid

Japanese: 準輝石 - じゅんきせき（英語表記）pyroxenoid

It is a mineral with a chemical composition of metasilicate, belonging to the chain silicate (inosilicate) family, and has fibrous or columnar crystals that are very similar to pyroxene. It has a single-chain structure in which SiO ₄ tetrahedrons are linked in a one-dimensional direction. It differs from pyroxene in terms of its periodicity, with a single-chain structure with periods of 3, 5, 7, or 9 tetrahedrons. Most of them are triclinic, which differs from pyroxene. In pyroxene, the band structure formed by two parallel octahedrons is occupied by small Mg and Fe ions, but in pyroxene, the band structure is formed by two or three octahedrons, and is characterized by large ions such as Ca and Mn ions.

メタケイ酸塩の化学組成をもち，鎖状ケイ酸塩(イノケイ酸塩)族に属し，繊維状や柱状結晶で輝石ときわめて類似している鉱物をいう。SiO₄四面体が一次元方向に連なった単鎖構造をもつ。その周期性の点で輝石と異なり，四面体が3個，5個，7個，9個を周期とする単鎖構造をもつ。その大部分は三斜晶系であり，輝石と異なる。輝石では並列する2個の八面体で形成する帯構造を小さなMgやFeイオンが占めるが，準輝石では，2個あるいは3個の八面体が帯構造を形成し，CaやMnイオン等の大型イオンがそれを占めることが特徴である。
