Korean bells do not have a kesasuki (a traditional sash), and many have a decorative tube (a flag holder or a bell ring) attached to the back of the crown of the knob. The oldest surviving temple bell with an inscription is the one inscribed with the year Taijian (575) of the Northern and Southern Chen Dynasties (Nara National Museum).
