In 1672, JB Lully obtained the royal charter for the Royal Academy of Music, and music and ballet in the theater were institutionally separated from verbal theater. In 1680, the Théâtre de Bourgogne and its company after the death of Molière were united by royal decree to form the Comédie-Française, and the mission of the company was to perform the classics, centering on the three great authors. The word "theatre" began to refer to verbal theater. The rise of French opera with ballet, such as Lully's operas (librettos by P. Quinault), was continued by JP Rameau in the 18th century, and criticism of this became the "Querelle des Bouffons," with Rousseau as the theorist. This already foreshadowed Pierre Alexandre Monsigny's (1729-1817) first opera-comique (The Imprudent Confessions), which premiered in 1759 at the market in Saint-Germain. *Some of the terminology that mentions "Monsigny, PA" is listed below.
