…A peasant revolt that occurred in England in July 1549 during the reign of Edward VI. It began as a local uprising in Windham, Norfolk, and eventually spread to the whole of Norfolk and parts of Suffolk under the leadership of Robert Kett (Ket) (?-1549), with 16,000 rebels taking control of the town of Norwich. However, they were defeated by the government forces led by the Earl of Warwick, who also included Italian and German mercenaries, and Ket and the other leaders were executed. …
