Japanese: 松のみどり - まつのみどり

A collection of Kabuki actor's artistic talks. Written by Matsumoto Koshiro VII. Published in 1937. The preface says that it was named after the artistic talk collection "Matsu no Midori" by Koshiro VII. The inscription reads "Kotomatsu Geidan." He was adopted into the Fujima family at the age of five, and became a disciple of Ichikawa Danjūrō IX at the age of eleven. He became a Kabuki actor, taking on the stage names of Kintarō, Somegoro, and Komazo before assuming the stage name of Koshiro. During this time, he writes about the appearance of Shidanjūrō, and the difficulties he faced in playing roles such as "Kanjinchō," "Sukeroku," and "Chushingura." In particular, he writes about the direction of Benkei, which became his lifelong hit role, and is very detailed.

歌舞伎役者の芸談集。7世松本幸四郎著。1937年刊。5世幸四郎の芸談集《松のみどり》にちなんで命名したと序文にある。〈琴松芸談〉と角書にある。5歳で藤間家へ養子にゆき，11歳で9世市川団十郎の門に入る。歌舞伎俳優となり，金太郎から染五郎，高麗蔵を経て幸四郎を襲名するが，その間の師団十郎の風貌，《勧進帳》《助六》《忠臣蔵》などの役についての苦心談を記している。とりわけ弁慶は終生の当り役になっただけあって，その演出について詳しい。
