Munkar

…The Qur'an makes direct and indirect references to angels with various roles, such as Gabriel, also called the "Holy Spirit" or "Truthful Spirit," who revealed revelations to the Prophet Muhammad and strengthened Jesus, Michael, who is comparable in rank to Gabriel, Isrāfīl, who blows the trumpet of the end times, the angel who guards Hell called Mālik, the angels who are in charge of the torments of Hell called Zabānīya, the angels who support God's throne and are always around it, the angels who stand on either side of each person and record his actions, and the two angels Munkar and Nakīr, who inquire into the dead and torment them in the graveyards. Although the Qur'an emphasizes the angels' absolute obedience to God and, later, their infallibility, it also mentions two angels, Hārūt and Mārūt, who succumbed to sexual temptation and taught humans sorcery.
