Ondake - Ondake

Japanese: 鬼岳 - おんだけ

A clastic cone located in the eastern part of Fukue Island, Goto Islands, Nagasaki Prefecture. It is 315m above sea level. The mountain has a height of about 200m, a base diameter of just over 1km, and a crater several hundred meters in diameter that opens to the north at the summit. The ratio of the crater to the size of the mountain is large, making it a famous example of a mortar-shaped volcano. The slopes of the mountain are mainly grassland, and shallow radiating valleys have developed on the outer slopes. It sits on a gentle lava field (shield volcano) less than a hundred meters above sea level that constitutes the peninsula at the eastern end of the island, and the nearby small mountains such as Mt. Hi, Mt. Minodake, and Mt. Usu are also clastic cones that arose on the same lava field.

長崎県五島列島福江島東部にある砕屑（さいせつ）丘。標高315m。山体の比高約200m，基底直径は1km余りで，山頂には北へ開いた直径数百mの火口があり，山体の大きさに対して火口の割合が大きく，臼状火山の例として有名。山体斜面はおもに草地となり，外側斜面には浅い放射谷が発達している。島東端の半島部を構成する標高百数十m以下のなだらかな溶岩原(楯状火山)の上にのっており，近隣にある火岳，箕岳，臼岳などの小山体も同じ溶岩原上に生じた砕屑丘である。
