…With the rise of the Ottoman Empire, the activities of court poets began, and Ahmedi's (1334-1413) Iskender Nameh was a long epic poem that included the oldest Ottoman dynasty history, and spread as far as Central Asia. After the conquest of Constantinople (1453), many dynasty histories were compiled, but the chronicles of Ashk Pasha Zade and Neşrī (?-1490) were written in a simple style with many colloquial elements, preserving the tradition of narrative writing. In the middle period (16th-17th centuries), the Ottoman literary language, which contained many Arabic and Persian vocabulary, was formed, and Ottoman classical literature was completed with the influence of Azerbaijani literature and Chagatai literature. …
