Mining and manufacturing statistics

Japanese: 鉱工業統計 - こうこうぎょうとうけい

These statistics are aimed at mining and manufacturing as an industry, and are divided into those for mining and manufacturing in general and those for individual industries. In terms of content, they can be classified according to whether they focus on production activities, supply and demand distribution, business management, or equipment status. The first of these is the "Industrial Statistics," which can be considered a national census of industry. As of December 31st each year, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry surveys the number of employees, raw material usage, manufactured goods shipment value, tangible fixed assets, industrial land and water use, etc., involved in production activities at each manufacturing establishment for the past year.

産業としての鉱工業を対象とする統計であり，鉱工業全般についてのものと個々の業種別のものとがある。また内容的には，いちおう生産活動，需給流通，企業経営，設備状況等のいずれに重点をおいているかで分類することができる。工業全般に関する統計としては，まず〈工業統計〉がある。工業に関する国勢調査ともいうべきもので，毎年12月31日現在で通産省が，製造業の各事業所の過去1年間の生産活動に係る従業者数，原材料使用額，製造品出荷額，有形固定資産額，工業用地･用水等を調査している。
